What is the Government Green Homes Grant Scheme?
The UK Green Homes Grant offers homes in England the opportunity to claim up to £5,000 in vouchers towards the cost of Spray Foam Installation. Those with lower income may be able to claim up to £10,000. The Green Homes Grant Scheme was created to help incentivise homeowners to make their homes and properties more energy efficient and cut down on carbon emissions, pursuing the aim of a greener world.
Why is installation important for benefiting the planet?
Being able to keep warmth in your home, rather than letting it escape through areas of your roof means you do not need to turn the heating on as much. From this you will be doing your part by reducing the need to burn fossil fuels that we use to generate heat. Burning fossil fuels produces the greenhouse gas Carbon Dioxide which then is released into the atmosphere. CO2 is usually absorbed by trees, the ocean and other plants. Increasing amounts of CO2 particles mean these expand and rise. They get trapped in the atmosphere and create a warming effect. From this the result has heated up the planet, which is melting ice glaciers at rapid rates. This rise in ocean water levels has ruined the weather systems, which impacts the entire eco system upon which we rely.
Do you or someone you know find yourself layering up just to stay warm indoors or having a shock when your energy bill costs you an extortionate amount? If yes, then there is clearly a problem with your homes ability to keep in the heat. We have the resolution to this issue with an eco-friendly way which will save you more in the long run as well as keep you warmer during those colder months! Even better, during this time the Green Homes Grant Scheme means this is a cheaper option for homeowners across the UK.
Who Is Eligible for the Green Homes Grant?
- You may be eligible if you live in England and own your own home (long leaseholders and shared ownership included)
- You are a residential landlord in the private or social rented sector (including local authorities and housing associations)
- If you own your own park home on a residential site.
How do you find out if you are eligible?
The Green Homes Grant is open to all homeowners – either owner occupiers or landlords – so most households will qualify. You can check your eligibility, by going to greenhomesgrant.campaign.gov.uk
