Quality Standards

Peace of mind

ProPERLA waterproof masonry paints & coatings have been rigorously and independently tested and certified to give you peace of mind.

RENOTEC does not tear. It remains flexible, is colour stable and protects your tiles for more than 10 years.

DIN EN ISO 53054 – Tensile strength

DIN EN ISO 7783-2 – Water vapor permeability

DIN EN ISO 1062/3 – Water permeability

DIN EN ISO 4624 – Pull-off test for adhesion

Organic Formula

RENOTEC® is based on a special organic 100% acrylic formula (free of APEO) and contains specially selected pigments. There are 3 major aspects that will be achieved with a RENOTEC® treatment:

Specially selected pigments

The look of the roof will be improved, and aesthetics maintained for many years. RENOTEC® is very resistant to UV degradation.

Super hydrophobic surface

RENOTEC® BPA is a beading performance additive that will create a super hydrophobic surface. Its extreme beading behaviour will protect the roof tiles from water ingress.

Increase the resistance of your roof tiles

A RENOTEC® treatment will prevent the loss of structural strength in roof tiles. If this is not done properly it can lead to salt efflorescence and frost damage.

Roof coating with excellent properties

RENOTEC® Roof Coating is scientifically developed by specialised engineers with more than 30 years of experience in developing high quality protective coatings for the roofing industry. Treatments with RENOTEC® Roof Coating will extend the lifespan of the roof tiles and will considerably reduce further surface erosion. It is developed to transform roofs from dirty and unattractive into clean and shiny.

Tested and Certified

Independently tested by Lucideon, Lucideon is a development and commercialization organization (DCO), specializing in materials technologies and processes – Giving you peace of mind

Highly water repellent

The super hydrophobic (highly water repellent) properties of the coatings were put to the test using Lucideon’s in House Moisture Content Testing Method PR 27:1998.

The test results revealed that bricks coated with ProPERLA were able to repel water and reduce absorption by up to 96.3%. for ProPERLA Masonry Crème and 93.4% for ProPERLA Facade Coating when compared to uncoated bricks.

Quality standard passed – BS EN ISO 12572 – Water Vapour Resistance

Independently tested

ProPERLA Masonry Crème and ProPERLA Facade Coating have been independently tested by the UKAS accredited testing and analysis laboratory, Lucideon, to give you peace of mind.

Lucideons work-leading testing and characterisation laboratories enabled them to scientifically and impartially test ProPERLA wall coatings to ensure they are fit to purpose and conform to regulations.

25 Year performance

To determine the long-term performance of ProPERLA wall coatings, the coatings were subjected to repeated heat-rain cycles followed by heat-cold cycles at controlled humidity to simulate weathering correlating to 25 years exposure.

25-year performance and durability were confirmed. The results revealed no change in performance or aesthetic appearance after accelerated weather resting There was also no evidence of water penetration and a reduction in salt efflorescence compared to uncoated bricks.

Energy efficiency

To test the thermal benefits of ProPERLA wall coatings, temperature readings were taken before, during and after the accelerated weathering test.

Bricks coated with ProPERLA were found to be more energy efficient than un-coated ones. The thermal image here was taken of the rear of the wall during a rain cycle and it clearly shows a 6*C temperature difference between coated and uncoated bricks. The uncoated brick panel is in the middle.

Highly breathable

Testing was conducted to determine the effect ProPERLA wall coatings have on the ability of the bricks to allow moisture to escape. Specimens of ProPERLA coated bricks were submitted for the determination of water vapour resistance using the wet-cup method.

ProPERLA wall coatings were found to have little effect on the breathability of the brick substrate. Th value of the uncoated specimens was 0.57, compared to 0.56 and 0.60 for specimens coated with ProPERLA Masonry Crème and ProPERLA Facade Coating. This means the SD value of the uncoated specimens was 0.57 compared to the 0.56 and 0.60 for specimens coated with ProPERLA Masonry Crème and ProPERLA Façade Coating.
